Southern Sounds the jazz tour division of Diplomatic Travel Limited, an ATOL bonded specialist tour operator. We have been arranging jazz tours to the United States since 1992, when the first tour in association with the Ken Colyer Trust was organised.

Over the years we have built up a wealth of knowledge, and friends, in New Orleans, and now offer the only escorted jazz specific tour to the “home of jazz” visiting in April each year for the French Quarter Festival, a free open air festival with an eclectic mix of music, principally jazz but also gospel, blues, Cajun and zydeco. Our high profile amongst the jazz fraternity enables us to organise events that are unique including jam sessions with local musicians and private parties at historic jazz venues.

The tour is fully escorted by Bill & Chris Stotesbury of “Goin Home Band” fame and by a representative of Southern Sounds.

We also offer non-escorted trips to San Diego for the Thanksgiving Dixieland Jazz Festival in November and for the Jazz & Heritage Festival in New Orleans in late April/early May.
