The Okavango Delta in Flood - Flying Safari

Join Marwell Zoo members on a fully escorted flying safari to experience the effects of the annual flooding of the Okavango Delta that creates an amazing wetland within a desert and sustains a huge diversity of wildlife.  Staying in three luxury camps you will enjoy a variety of game viewing options in differing eco-systems.

Monday 20th June

Check in at Heathrow in time to depart on your overnight flight to Johannesburg.

Tuesday 21st June

Arrive Johannesburg, connect with Air Botswana flight to Maun. Arrive Maun, met with a 20 minute light aircraft transfer to the Chitabe Camp, in the heart of the Okavango Delta, for a three night stay on a fully inclusive basis. Chitabe Camp has eight luxury tented rooms, each built on a raised deck, with en suite bathrooms. There is a pool and two hides, including a night hide where you will spend one night during your stay. Game activities include 4x4 drives in open vehicles, night drives and walks. The latter are at the discretion of the head ranger dependant on predator concentrations.

Wed 22nd & Thu 23rd June

Friday 24th June

Collected by light aircraft for the 30 minute transfer to the northern Okavango Delta, staying for the next three nights at Vumbura on a fully inclusive basis. The camp has eight luxury en suite tents and a pool. The area around Vumbura has some of the delta’s best all year round game viewing with scenic waterways and dry savannah. Activities include game drives, night drives, bird watching, guided walks, and mokoring.

Sat 25th & Sun 26th June

Activities as arranged by your lodge.

Monday 27th June

Collected by light aircraft for the 45 minute transfer to the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, where you will stay at Duma Tau for the next three nights on a fully inclusive basis. Duma Tau has eight luxury en-suite tents built on raised decks overlooking an enormous lagoon. Activities include day and night game drives, guided walks, boating and hides.

Tue 28th & Wed 29th June

Activities as arranged by your lodge.

Thursday 30th June

Collected by light aircraft for the 30 minute transfer to Maun in time to catch your Air Botswana flight to Johannesburg. Relax in the Rennies Premier Lounge prior to your return overnight scheduled flight to Heathrow.

Friday 1st July

Early morning arrival into London Heathrow.
