Polar Bear and Canadian Adventure

October 2006

A wildlife safari holiday with a difference - venture into the frozen north of Canada to view polar bears and other wildlife of the tundra.  This is a sample itinerary, call for a quotation based on your requirements.

Day 1

Depart from the UK on a scheduled Air Canada direct day flight to Toronto. Connect with an internal flight to Winnipeg. On arrival into Winnipeg met with a transfer to The Fort Garry hotel for an overnight stay.

Evening free to explore this vibrant city or just rest after the flight.

Day 2

After breakfast you have the morning at leisure before you transfer to Winnipeg Airport at noon for your flight to Churchill (Manitoba), on the edge of Hudson Bay. Met upon arrival with a transfer to your hotel for a three-night stay. Tonight a welcome dinner has been arranged for you.

Day 3

Today enjoy a full day spent on board a Tundra Buggy, a unique well heated and washroom equipped vehicle. A hearty lunch is prepared for you as the Tundra Buggy’s over inflated tyres allow unparalleled access to this fragile ecosystem.

An experienced naturalist guide, who is well versed in local bear conditions and will make every effort to ensure favourable photographic opportunities, will accompany you. For those who don’t mind braving the cold, the Tundra Buggy has an open rear platform allowing unrestricted views.

Day 4

This morning you will look at the cultural and historical side of Churchill and the surrounding area. The afternoon is free for you to explore such places as the Eskimo Museum and the Parks Canada Display or optional Dog Sledging experience.

Day 5

A second full day is spent on the tundra observing the behaviour of the great white bear and the relationships it forms with other local wildlife. Tonight we have arranged a farewell dinner after which you will be transferred back to Churchill Airport for a flight back to Winnipeg. On arrival you will be transferred to The Fort Garry Hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 6

Transfer to Winnipeg Airport in time to catch your flight to Toronto. Met on arrival and transferred to your Downtown hotel, The Delta Chelsea, for a two night stay.

Day 7

Today enjoy a full day excursion to Niagara Falls including a journey behind the Horseshoe Falls.

Day 8

Explore Toronto, starting with a two-hour comprehensive city tour including the Eaton Centre, Yorkville and the City Halls. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. Late afternoon transfer to Toronto airport in time to catch your return scheduled direct flight to the UK.

Day 9

Arrive UK.
